Sunday Best in Northampton is a shop full of beautiful garments for Christening and First Communion.

And they currently have 20% off all Communion dresses.

From off-the-peg dresses to bespoke designs, Sunday Best does it all. They sell on the internet and have recently moved premises from Adnitt Road to Abington Avenue.

Now they are keen to welcome local people into the shop to browse the selection of beautiful gowns and romper suits, gifts and accessories for special occasions.

“We are already finding more people are coming into the shop,” said Karen Christodoulou, manageress of Sunday Best.

“We sell Christening gowns and Communion dresses and all sorts of special occasion wear for children,” she added. “Many people don’t have Christenings now but they may have a naming ceremony or a special First Birthday celebration.”

Included in the selection are hand-made garments, made in Northampton and you can even have your wedding dress turned into a Christening gown.

“We do bespoke work and we have a range of our own designs which you will not see anywhere else – although we do have a few of our designs on sale in Fortnum and Masons in Piccadilly,” added Karen.

“We also sell a range of accessories and gifts such as veils and special headdresses and hair combs for First Communion and shoes and tights.

“And for Christenings we do personalised shawls and bibs so you can have the baby’s name and the date on it if you want to.”

Sunday Best covers the entire range of special occasion wear, from high end to simple, affordable options with prices starting at £40.

“When someone is choosing something for their child for a special occasion it is good to be able to feel the fabric as well as see it, to see the detail up close, and for their child to try it on to see if it fits,” said Karen.

“We welcome people to the shop and it is open from 10-2pm Tuesday to Saturday, but if somebody can’t make it during those times, we are happy to make an out-of-hours appointment for them to come in.”
